Welcome to this Blog which has been created for you to practise writing. I know it is a bit early for you to write long compositions, but you can start just telling us your name, your profession and where you live. Little by little your contributions will grow and they will also be more correct. You are supposed to correct each others, but I will also check in case there are mistakes which have not been discovered.

The course is going to finish already!!

We have studied for ten months, and now we are getting ready for the exam of next Sunday. I'm very happy because I have improved my English a lot with Burlinton method, Now, I'm very quiet because I have studied a lot during this year.


I'm very gratefully to Ann, because she has been a very good teacher!!!
This is my last writing this course, and it is in appreciation for all you have done,Ann. I'm a teacher too, and I like hearing  my students saying that "I have learned a lot with Esti". I can say it "I have improved my English a lot with Ann"


Will we be studying with you next year? I hope that the answer will be:  "YES"

My first exam

Good morning!! Yesterday I made my first exam in English! I'm happy, because I was very nervous for the exam! On Sunday, I'm going to make my writting exam. Good lucky for everybody in yours exams. Regards!! Mª Luisa

Dear Family:

How are you? I’m fine.

My name is Esti and I’m going to spend my holidays with you. I’m thirty-seven years old, I’m tall and thin, my eyes are brown and my hair is black.  I live in a small town called Sopuerta with my family. I work as a teacher at Santa María School of Portugalete, so, I’m learning a lot of English because in the future I’ll need to use it. I need speak very well in English, for then teach chemistry in English, do you understand me?

I don’t know how to improve my pronunciation, so, I think you can help me a lot.

We are going to stay together two month, and it is going to be very good for my English, but I hope don’t stay sad, because I’m going to spend the holidays without my two children and my husband.

I’m going to take the airplane on July 1^st, at nine o’clock in the morning. The travel goes on ten hours so I’m going to arrive at seven o’clock in the evening, for Spanish hour.

Can you pick me up at the airport? Instead, tell me how I can get home. I have your e-mail address, but, I don’t have your address and your phone number. Can you give me both?

Hello Pepa,

I’m going to buy food to the supermarket right now. We need some things to eat this evening because we have a party with our friends. Do you remember it? I cannot bring all of them, so I need your help. I’m going to buy some things to make a salad, like tomatoes, some lettuce, onions… but we also need meat and fish and something for dessert. Can you bring some meat and fish? And can you bake a good chocolate cake?

I’m going to buy a tablecloth and napkins, too. We don’t have anything to drink, so I’m going to buy some bottles of Coca-Cola, wine, beer…

I think that it is all.

DESCRIBING MY DAILY ROUTINES

I wake up early every day. On weekdays I wake up at seven o'clock, I take a shower and then I have breakfast. But, I take only a coffee because in the morning I don't have hungry. Then I prepare children's clothes and I go to work. Children have breakfast and go to school with their father.

I drive to work for twenty minutes from Sopuerta to Portugalete.

I work at Santa María School, so at eight o'clock I have time to make copies for kids, because they come to school at eight thirty. In this moment starts my first class and the last class finishes at four thirty in the evening.

From a quarter to two until three thirty I have time to eat. Sometimes I eat at school but one day a week I go out to eat with my workmates.

At five o'clock I pick up my children at their school. It is in Muskiz, between Portugalete and Sopuerta.

On Tuesday and Thursday we usually go to the swimming pool, from a quarter after five until seven o'clock in the evening, so we get home at a quarter after seven. My oldest son does his homework while I cook dinner, then we eat it together, and then the children go to bed.

On Mondays, Wednesday and Friday in the evening we are playing in the park with other children from five o'clock until seven o'clock. Then we get home and...

At night from nine thirty until eleven o'clock I study English and then I go to bed.

On weekends, I wake up early too, but not at seven o'clock in the morning, at eight o'clock. Weekends are amazing, I have time to play with kids, to go out with them...

I like my job but I love weekend!!!

My daily routines

Hello!!
My nane is María Luisa, and I'm a teacher in a school in a village.
Usually, I get up at twenty for eight, I have a bath, I have breakfast, I clean my teeth and I drive to my work at about half past eigth.

I get home at a quarter past two on Tuesday to Friday, but on Monday, I get home at about half past six in the evening.
I have dinner early with my parents, my sister and my husband, in my parents' house.
I go to my home with my husband and my two she-dog, and we always go to the bed early.
At weekend, I usually go to the countryside with my husband and our she-dogs, they love running all the time!!! sometimes we see a lot of animals like rabbits, birds, eagles...
